For additional pictures, see our website: The Sports Car that Everyone Loves The early MGs helped introduce America to the fun of driving affordable sports cars. Sporty looking, quick on a track and plenty of wind-in-the face weekend driving fun, these cars were very different than anything available from American manufacturers and set the tone for the next two decades of the sports car market. Excellent Finishes Our 1952 MG-TD is a very nice example of these iconic cars. As with all the TDs, ours has twin suicide doors allowing one to slip into the open cockpit. Resprayed in Red with a high-quality paint job, this car has a finish level far superior to how it left the factory. The paint would be perfect except for a spot on the left side of the gas tank where the paint isn’t adhering to the chrome underneath (see pictures). The interior is tan leather as original, and was replaced (including door panels) only a few hundred miles ago. It is in excellent condition, with no tears, holes or rips in the seats or door panels. The carpet is black and was replaced at the same time the interior was redone. The canvas top is tan and is in like-new condition with a clear back window. The latching hardware needs to be located and installed, so it doubtful the top was ever utilized after having been replaced. The tan canvas tonneau is in nice condition with a few stains, allowing one to button up the car overnight or cover the passenger seat for driving in cooler or rainy weather without a passenger. Desirable Options/Features This fully restored TD has been upgraded to include: • 5 chrome wire wheels and 165 SR 15 radial tires • The upgraded dash in nicely finished burl walnut • A Moto-Lita wood steering wheel • Tools—mounted in a box under the bonnet—for changing the tires • All new wood in the body framework Runs like only a TD Can! Mechanically, the car is in very good condition. The factory 1250 cc engine starts right up, idles properly and accelerates without hesitation. Similarly, the 4-speed transmission shifts properly up through the gears. The braking system was completely rebuilt a month ago, so the car stops as it should. This TD tracks and stops straight and true. The gauges and instruments are functioning as are the lights, wipers and horn. And, should you need it, there is a jack and a brass-headed wheel hammer mounted under the bonnet for changing tires in the event of a flat. All in all, this is a car that is ready to jump into and go. AND . . . it’s Fun! This TD offers as much fun as one can reasonably have with a car--the wind in your hair, the sound of the exhaust in your ears, and at 50 mph you feel you are doing 100! This MG-TD is a car that would be fun to take to the store, fun to drive to a restaurant and fun to take to local car shows, with the operative word being: FUN. It is extremely well-restored and fully functional. If you are familiar with the TDs, you will love this one; if you are not, stop by for a look. . . and some fun. FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL US AT:
